   В дисертації вперше на британських історіографічних джерелах другої половини ХХ ст. комплексно досліджується процес нагромадження та систематизації знань з історії організації та механізму функціонування владних структур в Англії першої половини XVII ст. Проводиться узагальнення досвіду вивчення британськими науковцями англійської адміністративної історії доби ранніх Стюартів, аналізуються новітні підходи та дослідницькі методики, запропоновані в британській історичній науці до вивчення державно-владних інститутів Англії першої половини XVII ст. Виокремлено та обґрунтовано головні етапи дослідження британськими істориками проблематики з історії організації державного управління Англії доби ранніх Стюартів. Виявлено дискусійні, маловивчені питання, які потребують глибшої розробки та визначено перспективні напрями подальших досліджень.

   В диссертации впервые на британских историографических источниках второй половины ХХ в. комплексно исследуется процесс накопления и систематизации знаний по истории организации и функционирования властных структур Англии эпохи ранних Стюартов. Проведено обобщение опыта изучения в современной британской историографии административной истории Англии первой половины XVII  в. Анализируются новейшие подходы и исследовательские методики, предложенные британскими историками для изучения властных институтов Англии эпохи ранних Стюартов.
   Выделено и обосновано три историографических периода в изучении британскими специалистами тематики по истории организации государственного управления Англии эпохи ранних Стюартов. Определены дискуссионные, малоизученные вопросы и намечены перспективные направления дальнейших исследований.

Shevchenko N. State-Power Structures of Early Stuart England in the Elaboration of the British Historiography of the Second Half of the XXth c. – Manuscript.

This is a qualifying thesis for Ph. D. (Candidate of History) Degree in Speciality 07.00.06. – Historiography, Source Studies and Special Historical Subjects. – Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, 2003.

   For the first time the thesis provides the complex studying of elaboration of different aspects of English administrative history of the first half of the XVII century in the modern British Historiography. The author traces the main periods in the studying of Early Stuart state-power structures. They are: 1950-s – the beginning of 1970-s, the middle of 1970-s – 1980-s and 1990-s. It is stressed, that this periodization doesn't only coincide with the developments in the studying of the English Revolution, but also reflects the British historiographical process of the second half of the XXth c. in general.
   The deep analysis of the different categories of source materials, used in the works of modern British historians, proved, that the complex studying of all kinds of historical evidences on the English history of the XVIIth c. allowed them to elaborate the different subjects of Early Stuart administrative history.
   The author provides the critical review on the recent advances in the studying of English "parliamentary history" of the first half of the XVIIth c. and concludes, that among the new developments in its studying was the elaboration of the "history of the English Parliament" of the first half of the XVIIth c. The number of the problems discussed in the modern British historiography are described here, among them: the structure and composition of parliamentary assemblies, the order of their formation, their functions in the whole system of Early Stuart's Government etc.
   The special attention is paid to the original approaches used by the modern British historians in the studying of the royal Household and different departments of central and local administration. The author also deals with the main directions in the studying of social aspects of Early Stuart administrative history and stresses, that these new tendencies in its development were caused by the challenge of "sociohistoricism". The author tries to illustrate the impact of "new social" history on the British political historiography by the analyzing of so called "collective portraits" ("social biographies") of ordinary English MPs and office-holders of the first half of the XVIIth c., which formed one of the new trends in the elaboration of the English administrative history.
   The author plays emphasis on the severe discussions in the modern British historiography about the setting of special historical categories and terminology in the studying of the Early Stuart administrative history.
   The wide spectrum of perspective themes of further researches both in the studying of the English administrative history of Early Stuart period and of critical reviews on peculiarities in the studying of its problems in the modern British historiography are outlined here.
